Marsh Road - June 2025

Marsh Rd. Project Update: Follow along and watch the progress!

Back on Track

We are seeing the project come to life! With June, we were back on track and diving into the major finish carpentry work. This is the phase where all those months of planning, framing, and problem-solving start revealing the stunning spaces this family will live in and enjoy.

The Home Stretch

This phase included installing cabinets and beautiful engineered hardwood flooring. Watching this home renovation take shape from a construction zone to a livable space keeps the momentum going.

Building Character

For the cabinets, we chose a rust-stained knotty alder that perfectly captures the modern rustic aesthetic. Wide plank flooring creates the timeless farmhouse feel. These products are not only stunning but also provide the stability and durability needed by the homeowners.

Stonework Begins

We also began our exterior stonework this month, which adds to the rustic element and complements the mixed siding styles. Stone work requires incredible precision and artistry. Each piece needs to fit perfectly while creating the natural, organic appearance that makes farmhouse design so popular.

Tile Work Progress

We wrapped up the tile work in the bathroom and moved on to tiling the backsplash now that the knotty alder cabinets were securely in place. There’s perfect timing and coordination involved. The cabinets need to be installed before the backsplash tile work can begin. This keeps our quality standards high to ensure precise measurements and clean, professional edges.

Celebrating Craftsmanship

This month really showcased our craftsmen at their best - cabinet installers achieving perfect alignment, flooring specialists creating seamless transitions, tile artisans delivering precision work. When you see this level of coordination, you understand why quality renovations require true expertise.

What’s Next

With so much completed and more underway, we’re entering  the final phases where this Central Oregon home remodel becomes the comfortable, beautiful home this family has been dreaming about. Stay tuned for the finishing touches that bring everything together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes knotty alder a good choice for farmhouse-style cabinets?

Knotty alder offers distinctive natural grain patterns and warm tones that perfectly complement the farmhouse design. The knots and grain variations create an authentic character that can’t be replicated.

Q: Why choose engineered hardwood over solid wood flooring?

Engineered hardwood provides the beauty of real wood with more stability. The layered construction resists expansion and contraction better than solid wood, while the wide plank style adds the authentic farmhouse feel.

Q: How important is timing when coordinating finish work?

Timing is everything in finish work. Cabinets must go in before backsplash tile, flooring before final trim, and stonework coordinated with siding completion. Getting the sequence wrong means redoing work - experience teaches you the right order.
