Marsh Rd. Project Update: Follow along and watch the progress!

Finish Arrivals - When Planning Ahead Pays Off

What an exciting milestone! In January, most of our finishes arrived for inspection and inventory. As the carefully selected materials show up on site - we know our months of planning and early ordering reveals its importance.

Why We Order Finishes at Project Kickoff

We place orders for finishes right at the beginning of a home renovation project, long before we are ready to install them. This isn’t just good planning, it’s a crucial protection against delays, back orders, pricing increases or other challenges that can derail even the most meticulously planned and extensive home remodels.

When you’re working on a home renovation project of this scale in Central Oregon, supply chain timing becomes critical to keeping everything running smoothly.

The 550-Pound Concrete Tub Challenge

The star of the products delivered has to be the solid cast concrete tub weighing in at 550 pounds! This isn’t your typical bathtub delivery and getting this beauty into position was quite the logistical adventure!

Moving a 550-pound concrete tub required serious planning and the right equipment for the job. We had to bring in a bobcat tractor to handle the weight and get it safely into the house. Our team had to remove walls just to get this masterpiece into place.

This is why we coordinate these deliveries so carefully. Attempting to figure out how to move this bathtub through finished spaces would be frustrating! By planning the delivery during our construction phase, we were able to create the access we needed without any rework or damaging completed renovations.

Saving Homeowners Headaches

Getting finishes delivered and inventoried early protects this Central Oregon family from potential headaches:

  • No waiting around for back-ordered items when we are ready to install.

  • No surprise price increases that can blow budgets.

  • No scrambling to find alternatives when the perfect item is suddenly unavailable.

  • Less delays because of inclement weather

Plus, having everything on site lets us double-check that every finish is exactly what we ordered and in perfect condition, well before installation day arrives. This allows us time to get anything corrected without causing a delay.

Behind The Scenes Coordination

Coordinating deliveries like this concrete tub involves incredible teamwork. Our suppliers, delivery crews, equipment operators and our full-time team all had to work together to make this happen safely and efficiently. It’s just one example of how those 100+ people contributing to this home renovation project each bring their specialized expertise.

What’s Next

With excavation complete, the concrete crews have started on the garage addition foundation and front entry columns.

With our finishes safely delivered and inventoried, and foundation work in progress, we are ready to move into the installation phases where this homeowners vision really starts coming together. Stay tuned as we begin turning all this planning and preparation into the stunning, functional spaces this family has been dreaming about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you protect delivered finishes during construction?

Protecting delivered finishes during construction requires intention, smart storage, and organization. We create dedicated, clean storage areas away from the dust and debris of ongoing work. Our team does regular inventory checks to make sure nothing gets damaged, lost, or accidentally used before its time. Having everything safely stored and organized means when installation day arrives, we're ready to go without any surprises or delays.

Q: How does winter weather affect renovation material deliveries in Central Oregon?

Winter weather can delay deliveries and make job site access challenging. That's exactly why we order early and get everything delivered before weather becomes an issue - no waiting around when spring construction kicks into high gear.

Q: How far in advance should you order renovation materials?

We place orders right after your final selections are made and design plans are locked in, rather than waiting until we're ready to install. This gives us a buffer against supply chain hiccups, inclement weather, price increases, and ensures we have time to handle any shipping damage or quality issues without throwing the entire timeline off track.
